So, you want to play tennis, but you want to keep is casual? How about you give our new program a try? It’s the Sip ‘N Serve Series, which offers a social league experience with an emphasis on the FUN.

Join us Thursday nights for a new kind of tennis league where we hit the bar after we hit some balls. The SCTA will even cover some of the bill.

Matches take place every Thursday night from 7-8:30 and will consist of three lines of mixed doubles. One extra court will be reserved for “overflow” players to drill and play games. After the matches, all players are invited to a nearby restaurant and the SCTA will cover a portion of the bill. Only you can decide what happens after that!

Want to learn more? RSVP for our season kick-off party on Oct 23rd at Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Long Beach. There, you will get a chance to meet the other players, snack on some grub and even play some tennis. We will have teams formed by the following Thursday based on our skill assessment at the kick-off party.

The season will take place the following three weeks, with three scheduled matches and a season end party.

  • October 30: Week 1 – Costa Mesa TC & Fountain Valley TC
  • November 6: Week 2 – Seal Beach TC & Costa Mesa TC
  • November 13: Week 3 – Fountain Valley TC & Seal Beach TC
  • November 20: Series Finale Party – Lakewood TC

This is a pilot league program for the USTA based in the northern Orange County area for this season. Our hope is to expand to other areas in 2015 if there is interest.

For this pilot season, we are looking for fun and sociable men and women ages 18-35.

The cost is $40 for the league. That includes player parties, three scheduled matches, appetizers after matches, and some Sip ‘N Serve swag!

To RSVP for the Kick-Off party or for more information, please email Madeline Segura at Segura@scta.usta.com.
