Rain, rain, go away and come back another day! On what followed a long night of torrential down pour, the students of Enders Elementary in Garden Grove were fortunate enough to celebrate Friday with 90 minutes of tennis fun thanks to the SCTA Red-Orange-Green-Yellow (ROGY) Coordinator Meg Broccolo. Meg delivered tennis to about 130 Kindergartners and First Graders all within the confines of a multipurpose room on the campus of Enders Elementary. With weeks of preparation, Meg was able to manage the 60-70 students at once by laying out the multipurpose room into 5 different stations of activities and the help of SCTA Staff, Family, Volunteers, and Parents. The multiple stations and shortened time allotted at each station enabled an environment in which the children never lost focus or excitement. All equipment was provided by the SCTA and the students were able to experience youth tennis at its finest. From the pop up net to the Koosh balls, the students were able to stay engaged, have fun, all while developing important sport and tennis skills.
