If you’re looking for a quick tennis getaway and a break from your busy and hectic schedule, consider a short drive up the North US 101 and stop off in Oxnard and take in all the Residence Inn by Marriott at River Ridge has to offer.
Currently, the resort is offering an “Experience Tennis” package available now online. The package includes one night stay in a studio suite, breakfast and a one-hour tennis lesson with popular tennis pro Steve Beckendorf. The package starts at $229 plus tax per night, according to Millicent Bennett, Director of Sales for Residence Inn by Marriott.
As a guest you’ll have access to the four lighted River Ridge Tennis Center courts at the resort-like property.
If you have a group who is interested in a tennis road-trip, Bennett said her staff will help customize a getaway that could include amenities such as:

Beckendorf is a PTR certified, and has been around the sport of tennis his entire life. He grew up in Minnesota and was a three-time State High School champion and a top-ranked junior. He played NCAA Division III college tennis at Gustavus Adolphus College. He continues to play National Level age-group tournaments when his busy teaching schedule permits.
Beckendorf, who teaches clinics, private and group lessons for both adults and juniors, is currently a coach for the Central Coast USTA Competition Training Center working with highly ranked juniors.
