New Resource For High School Coaches

Through partnership between the USTA and the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), we have recently completed the “first-ever” tennis course to be featured on the NFHS  Learning Center site.

Coaching Tennis was designed specifically to help new and inexperienced high school tennis coaches (math, science teachers, etc.) develop the proper vision, knowledge and skills for leading effective practices and improving the high school player experience.  We believe this course will be a game changer for helping foster more connectivity between the USTA and thousands of high school coaches across the nation.

You can catch a short preview of the course at: http://nfhslearn.com/courses/61058/coaching-tennis

Special thanks to Kirk Anderson for leading this cross-functional project between Community Tennis, Player Development, USTA High School Task Force and the NFHS Learning Center team.  Kirk worked very closely with all business units and received valuable input during the project from USTA High School Task Force members Mark Faber (chairman), Jeff Rothstein and Laurie Martin who appears on the video.

Lastly, special thanks to USTA President, Katrina Adams for elevating high school tennis as a priority during her term and providing a clear vision for strengthening the connection to high school tennis while promoting the activation of fun, socially-charged opportunities to help keep players engaged in tennis during the off-season.
