LA84 Foundation & NJTL Team Up For 30th Year

Traditionally, a pearl is often the gift to mark a thirtieth anniversary. The Southern California Tennis Association’s National Junior Tennis and Learning Program (NJTL) received a unique “pearl” when the LA84 Foundation, for the thirtieth consecutive year, renewed its NJTL commitment, giving thousands of youngsters, in the section, opportunities to learn to play tennis.

LA84-Foundation“The SCTA and NJTL are very fortunate to again be partnering with the LA84 Foundation,” said Melanie Bischoff, Director of Community Tennis who is responsible for organizing the program. “Thirty years of involvement is truly impressive and I am honored to have worked with the LA84 Foundation for all these great years.

“Without the support provided by the LA84 Foundation, (which is responsible for dispersing funds realized by the successful 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games), Southern California youngsters would not have been introduced to the game. Thanks to the LA84 Foundation’s support, the outreach will continue. Thanks must also be extended to the core of dedicated instructors who form the backbone of the program by giving so much of their time and expertise.

I am truly pleased that all of those who have played roles for so long will have another chance to do what they love by being part of the NJTL effort. And this is all because of thirty years of support from the LA84 Foundation.”
