Junior Team Play

Over the next two months 220 juniors from around the section will be representing the Southern California Tennis Association in team play.

Starting July 9th and concluding on 13th, the best Boy’s/Girl’s 16 and Boy’s/Girl’s 14 competitors will participate in the USTA Intersectional Team Championships. Beginning on July 30th and finishing up on August 3rd, 14 of the section’s best Boy’s/Girl’s 18 performers (seven players on each team) will take part in the USTA National Team Championships.

  • Mae Canete- Los Angeles
  • Amanda Chan-Pasadena
  • Amy Huang- San Diego

The Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club in Shreveport, Louisiana will host the Boys’/Girls’ 16 event. Auburn University, in Auburn, Alabama, is the site of the Boys/Girls’ 14 contests. The matches will be played on clay, which is ideal preparation for the upcoming USTA National Clay Court Championships. The Boy’s 18 competition will take place at the University of Illinois in Urbana, Illinois. The Girl’s 18 event will be held at The Claremont Club. Both championships provide ideal preparation for the USTA National 18 Championships that immediate follow those tournaments.
